Owlet-nightjar chick
Owlet-nightjar chickThis little chick was found in the north of NSW sitting on the ground. It is an Owlet-nightjar. They are nocturnal, and build nests in hollows or crevices which both parents help to line with leaves.
Despite being so young and still fluffy, it could fly well and was returned at night and placed up in a suitable tree near where it was found.
